Speed skating sessions are held at Priest Valley Arena. Times for the 2010 - 2011 season (Sept 21 - March 15) are:

The Vernon Club was formed in 1992. The club operates under the umbrella of the British Columbia Speed Skating Association.
Speed skating offers all aged family members an opportunity to participate together. This past season, our skaters ranged in age (5 to 75) and abilities. Participants may skate recreationally or competitively. Potential members may attend one complimentary skating session at no cost, from mid September to mid March (waiver must be signed before entering ice).
Executive:
Speed skating is simply racing on ice. Skaters attempt to skate a measured course in the fastest time. It is not a sport that requires a lot of study and understanding of complicated rules.
Members are provided the opportunity to partake in competitions locally or out of province. This season's (2010 - 2011) host club meet will be held at the Vernon Wesbild Centre on February 12.
Fees are as follows (49 ice sessions):

Family discounts - additional family members receive a 10% discount (registration fees only). Total cap amount per family $750 (registration fees only).

Associate memberships are available. Associate memberships are generally for those who wish to support the club in a non-skating capacity. Open house skating, X-mas party skate, year end awards banquet, voting rights at annual general membership meetings, are included with associate membership. Annual cost is $25.
Age categories are based on your age as of June 30 preceding the season (ie, for the 2010 - 2011 season, your age as of June 30, 2010).
